Auto dealer charged with title loan fraud

From The State, “would submit fraudulent applications for title and vehicle registration with the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles in the name of one of the false owners. The false owner would then take the vehicle to a title loan business and secure a title loan. With loan in hand, the vehicle was returned to the Jenkins sales lot and, in one instance, sold without informing the buyer that a lien was held against the vehicle because of the loan.

charged with four felony and two misdemeanor counts of felony obtaining signature or property under false pretenses; seven counts of altering, forging or counterfeiting certificate of title, registration card or license plate; and one count of willful sale of property on which a lien exists.”
